Live Chat

Well I finally signed up for wyldryde and I'm currently working on an IRC bot that you guys can interact with.

To chat with an IRC client, go to irc.wyldryde.org channel #ilictronix.

If you don't want to download anything...head over to

It's basically a flash object that allows you to chat in the IRC server. I will have a link to it on the side.

I've been jamming on my kaossilator since I got it Christmas Morning, and it just gets better ever ytime. Although I'm not too good at it, I find it amusing to just play some riffs, then loop and cut them on one another to make a sometimes-decent-sounding song.

Anyway, I decided I'd jam and just record it through Audacity. In this mp3 you hear everything, from me scrolling through instruments, to me playing off key until it's good enough to loop. I know my timing might be off, but it's just improv, so deal.

Rubik and IRC

So my 5x5x5 rubiks cube came today, and I can now solve it in about 10 minutes. Solving it is not that different from a 3x3, but you first rearrange the 5x5 to be a 3x3, then solve it normally. It's hard to explain, but I solved it.

As for the IRC channel. I renamed it to #ilictronixblog, so take note.

To chat with us...
- Go to java.freenode.net
- Enter a nickname
- Enter #ilictronixblog in the channel box

I'll be there frequently, especially between 8 and 9 EST. See you there!

Quick Note

Just setting up the IRC channel a little more, expect it to be up by tomorrow.

IRC is up

Well, I decided to spend a few minutes registering ilictronix its very own IRC channel. I know the blog isn't that popular, but I'm sure we'll have some people in there.

If you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about...IRC is a chat system that allows you to join IRC servers and channels to talk to others. It does not require any sign up, but you can reserve a nick name if you'd like.

The server I have registered on is FreeNode (irc.freenode.net). And the channel name is #ilictronix. If you'd like to stop by and chat, since the ShoutBox is annoying, simply get an IRC client, such as XChat, and connect to irc.freenode.net channel #ilictronix.

If you don't feel like downloading stuff, simply go to java.freenode.net, enter a nickname to chat with, and enter ilictronix in the channel box to connect.

I'll be hanging around the server frequently, but I'll be there a lot between 7 and 9 PM EST (12 and 2 AM GST). So stop by and we'll chat it up. I think we can get a good amount of people chatting at once if we all decide to connect at around 7 EST. Bots will be added soon, so you'll have something to do haha.

Do you IRC?

Just a simple question...answer in the poll.

The reason I'm asking is because I've been thinking about registering an IRC channel for ilictronix, comment on your beliefs.

My Pwesentsssss

This year was a good one, and to sign it off was even better with an amazing christmas.

I asked for a few things, and I got everything I wanted, except a digital turntable, but I wouldn't be able to use it anyway haha.

So first, let me show off my new, bigass 22" acer HD monitor. This thing is flawless, and looks amazing, even for an Acer. So now I'm running in 1680 by 1050 resolution and it's pure sex.

Next, I also got 10" Altec Lansing speakers. These things are the best of the best, but the sound is amazing on my computer now. They were only about 30 bucks and run out of a standard 1/8" line out, I recommend these to anyone, they sound great.

This next gift was a strange one, but it's fun as hell. It's a pair of binoculars with video and picture capabilities built in. You can then transfer the files onto your computer. They were cheap, but they take some pretty nice pictures. They can also be used as normal binoculars.

I saved the best for last. ..

That's right, a Kaosillator. I opened the box and screamed like those two weird N64 kids. This badboy is a synthpad with a hundred instruments and unlimited capabilities. Unfortunately, I don't have RL stereo speakers, so I just use my old PC speakers via Line Out. The sound on this thing is INCREDIBLE. I had no idea such a small device could pack so much power. The sounds are versatile and you can make any genre of beats you want. At only $200, why the hell wouldn't you buy this!?!?

Also, all pictures were taken with my new LG Dare phone. The 2.0 MP lens holds up to about 2500 resolution, these pics were taken in 640 x 480 and shrunk to fit, though.

Fellow Bloggas

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around. With the combination of projects, school, and xmas shopping, I haven't had the time to write anything.

Anyway, I'm asking for some help since many of you have every song known to man. I was wodnering if someone could please email me Louis La Roche's Ten Minute Mix, high quality mp3 please. If you have no idea what I'm talking about...

Anyway, I NEED this track so if you find it you win my heart. But otherwise, have a happy holiday and I'll be back after christmas with some content.

So I made a new track today...

My friend and I are working on a history project dealing with government agencies under FDR. We were assigned the National Industrial Recovery Act. Anyway, our job was to create a short commercial, song, or anything, so I took the opportunity to think of a hilarious gangsta rap song and make it. I have yet to record the vocals, but I should get that down soon. As of now, all I have is the beat, which I made in FruityLoops Studio 8.0 using my Alesis Micron as a midi controller. It's meant to be hysterical, which the rhymes will match to.

Anyway, just thought you might enjoy it, it's still a work in progress so leave comments about what to fix and such...

My Obsession

Hey guys, I'm back...again.

Anyway, I haven't posted a song I'm obsessed with in a while, but I don't think I'm late. If I would've stayed on schedule and posted my obsession every week, it would still be this song. I truly cannot stop listening to it.

The track comes courtesy of musical genius Play Paul from the Crydamoure label. For those of you who don't know, Crydamoure is a label started by Guy Manuel De Homem-Christo, the guy with the gold helmet from Daft Punk. It is a french disco-house label, and has 2 compilation albums. Waves I and II, this track is from Waves II.

To be honest, this has some of the best sampling I've ever heard in any song, ever. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. So here it is, my obession.

Oh and to clear things up, I shoot for 2 to 3 articles weekly.

I'm Not Dead!!!

Sorry guys, just a little emergency was going on, but everything's sorted out now. Sorry for my absence.

So before I left, I hinted that I would write an article on FL Studio...Well, my friend was fooling around and made a track in FL, so I'm going to post that now. Tomorrow I will have a meaningful article on FruityLoops.
