My Pwesentsssss

This year was a good one, and to sign it off was even better with an amazing christmas.

I asked for a few things, and I got everything I wanted, except a digital turntable, but I wouldn't be able to use it anyway haha.

So first, let me show off my new, bigass 22" acer HD monitor. This thing is flawless, and looks amazing, even for an Acer. So now I'm running in 1680 by 1050 resolution and it's pure sex.

Next, I also got 10" Altec Lansing speakers. These things are the best of the best, but the sound is amazing on my computer now. They were only about 30 bucks and run out of a standard 1/8" line out, I recommend these to anyone, they sound great.

This next gift was a strange one, but it's fun as hell. It's a pair of binoculars with video and picture capabilities built in. You can then transfer the files onto your computer. They were cheap, but they take some pretty nice pictures. They can also be used as normal binoculars.

I saved the best for last. ..

That's right, a Kaosillator. I opened the box and screamed like those two weird N64 kids. This badboy is a synthpad with a hundred instruments and unlimited capabilities. Unfortunately, I don't have RL stereo speakers, so I just use my old PC speakers via Line Out. The sound on this thing is INCREDIBLE. I had no idea such a small device could pack so much power. The sounds are versatile and you can make any genre of beats you want. At only $200, why the hell wouldn't you buy this!?!?

GO BUY IT NOW

Also, all pictures were taken with my new LG Dare phone. The 2.0 MP lens holds up to about 2500 resolution, these pics were taken in 640 x 480 and shrunk to fit, though.

hahaha I actually wanted a Cortex HDT-5000 but I told my parents not to get it because I wouldn't be able to scratch well enough haha. I LOOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEE the kaossilator though, you should run out and buy one.

What turntable did you get?

This neat little software called Djay, which functions almost exactly like a real turntable and allows pitch/speed control.

You don't need to scratch to have a turntable.

I got a mixer for christmas. It's a trainer, no effects, but it's quite effective for getting down the whole mixing thing.

Idk I'd really only buy a turntable for cutting and scratching

It's not just the superiour sound of vinyl, it's the feeling you get when actually touching the vinyl, the buttons when mixing...
Gosh, I wouldn't like digital mixing :p (btw, I use final scratch and serato to play mp3's on a vinyl just for the kick of it.)

I love the feel of vinyl, and the real nobs and switches are nice. I use a laptop with sony acid and a turntable when I practice. I use sony acid to beatmap the songs, so I can change the tempo to match whatever's playing on the turntable, fade over, and then use the pitch adjust on the turntable to match the computer, then fade over, and gradually return the pitch to normal, and start the prcoess over again.

I can't wait to get another turntable, and maybe a CD turntable... that's a ways off yet. I've still gotta get past the beginner phase.
