Bring The Noize

Today, I'm here with a slightly more serious topic for you all... Crystal-covered skulls. Yes, it's that time of the month again. A Boys Noize article.

Alexander Ridha, better known under the slightly deceiving moniker of Boys Noize, has been bringing some BIG sounds since 2004. Since he's officially made a statement about a new album, I think now's the best time to play catch-up for you all. His sound is dirty but never really evil, and it's certain to bring a couple headbangs at your next party.

I've given you two tracks from his debut album "Oi Oi Oi" to chew over, which, not counting his bonus Feist remix, bookend the album. The first is an excellent track by any standards, opening with a vocoder bidding you "Hello!" before suddenly blowing up in your face. On another side of the table, which is hopefully not a selling point for any of you, this track was also the source of the guitar riff from Estelle's "American Boy". And down we go...

Track #2 is somewhat more familiar, having appeared in a remixed form on this site quite recently. Frau is the dirtiest song on Oi Oi Oi, and a faint, ever-rising tone at the beginning gives a sense of tension to the track, despite its repetition, until the power really hits. Which, as always, you can make happen just a click away...

Reminding you to have real love (not that non-sieger kind),

I always saw those vocals as a sample. No elements of the original other than that voice seem to be in it, so if I'd credit anyone at all, it'd be the singer.
