Around The World.... Again

It's a classic from two French blokes who helped catapult house into the mainstream. Its 144 repetitions of the song's title made sure that no-one would ever need to ask them what that really cool song was called. It was named number 13 in NME's countdown of the top 25 dance anthem of all time. It's "Around The World" by Daft Punk, and it's THE definitive track from the late 90's when Paris was EDM's Mecca.

There were countless remixes of this track, some old, some new. Today I'll be posting three of the rarer mixes of "Around The World". Speaking of which, if ANYONE has that 14-minute Motorbass Miami Mix, PLEASE contact ilictronix and email it, we would much appreciate it.



First is one of four tracks from the "Around The World: Ricanstructed by Masters At Work" EP. Masters At Work are a house duo consisting of Kenny Dope and Louie Vega (both of whom are namechecked in DP's "Teachers"). They made 4 remixes of "Around The World" for this EP. All of them are chilled-out deep house epics, but the instrumental "Mellow" mix is my favourite. Enjoy :)

Next up is the I:Cube mix. This was on the flip of that Motorbass Miami Mix I was begging for earlier. Daft Punk also did a remix of I:Cube's "Disco Cubizm" which is some FUNKY SHIT, so check that out if you haven't already.

And finally, a rare mix from Todd Terry. With added deep throated chanting and a bassline that jumps around more than a hostage in the trunk of a Citroen C4, this mix will get any party rocking.
