Joachim Spieth

This week I'm bringing you something on the total underground Techno tip.

Techno has been the new black since before that phrase came into existence. It is a genre that flourishes in the most dank cities and towns across the globe. Detroit and Berlin are it's two capitals but if you observe surrounding areas you're sure to find the echos of this machine music coming from seemingly abandoned buildings. That's where JoachimSpieth and his Affin imprint step in.

Joachim Spieth, has released records on Techno giants like Kompakt, Speicher and Paso Music. He started the Affin imprint a little over a year ago to release his own tracks and those of like-minded producers.

'Presence,' the new compilation from Affin, set for exclusive release on Beatport , March 6th, marks the past ten years of Joachim Spieth's productions since his debut EP release on Kompakt in 1999.

Techno sucks.

IMO, it sounds like they took a song, stripped it down, left some ambiance and drums, repeated the same thing for 7 minutes, and called it a song...

This kind of music is what makes electronic music look bad.

Just my two cents

the name kevin sucks.

Its like they took a name, retarded it down, called for an ambulance, repeated the same thing for a lifetime and called him a mong...

This kind of person obviously doesn't know anything about music

Just my two cents

Shut up Mr. Anonymous-I'm-Too-Spineless-To-Provide-My-Name. Kevin is right all the way. When people say they hate electronic music, it's because they hate techno. The same people like Justice, Daft Punk, Goldfrapp ad all that, and don't even think about it as electronic music because to them, electronic=techno.

Anon, you are retahded, but I lol'd...

Anywho, yea techno gives us a such a bad name. What's worse is when people listen to Justice or Daft Punk and say...ah I like this techno stuff. I've exploded on my friends before numerous times.

I've had almost physically violent fights about calling it techno before. 'almost', because it was on MSN, and no one got hurt but my computer desk and my fists.

But I will concede that I have heard some really cool techno songs before. Live techno is great, when all the filters and loops are being played, sampled, looped and all that live. Not much of that going on though...
