I have something to tell the lot of you, I recently became addicted. It ain't drugs or cigarettes or alcohol, it's something far worse. I tried everything to stop it, but I just don't seem to be able to stop singing and humming certain songs and vocals.
It all started some time ago when the newspapers were full of some artist named Tiga making a new album in Ghent with the Soulwax brothers... I heard of this "Tiga" before when visiting clubs and sometimes I even heard his name on the radio (he was good, but I never thought he would have such an influence on my life). Curious about this new album, I looked for some song that had already been released and that's when it happened.
I found shoes... shiny, shiny shoes.

At first I was like hmmm, okay song, nice catchy vocals... what I didn't realise at that point is that I already got addicted.
I wasn't really impressed with the original, so I went on searching for some remixes, and guess what I found.
My hero, Mr. Oizo did one hell of a remix, I played the song everyday, every spare second and because of that I didn't have the time to post something on the blog.

I've gotta say, this remix is pure sex with three women (men for our female visitors) at the same time... You might've guessed I like it alot.
If you don't like it, just listen to it one more time tomorow, and the day after tomorow... and you'll realise you can't live without it anymore, but it'll be too late by then.
But if you aren't convinced of the potential of shoes by now, here's some more, lot's more:
A techno remix with a darker feel to it by Noob, with some rolling beats:

A very chill vocal remix by Green Velvet with some funkytownish synths at the end:

A tectonic sounding remix by Spencer and Hill:

Conclusion, it's a versatile song with some real remix potential and a killervocal. Just let it grow on you, it takes some time to like it.
So now you all know what Tiga is capable of, my next post will go back in time, giving you some info about his career...
the Ciao review will have to wait, but by now you know our speciality here at ilictronix is to postphone reviews...
Enjoy, Mr. Brown
