Yes, I know this is in bad taste...

But I think it's about time I address the awesome that is Love Lockdown. Yes, it's by Kanye West. But yes, it is also pretty good. Now before you light your torches and grab your pitchforks, hear me out!

At the formal I mentioned earlier, during my conversation with the DJ, we touched on the fact that genres have been changing a lot since the 90's. We talked about how house went from Armand Van Helden to Da Funk to Harder Better Faster Stronger, and has now become electro. We also talked about how hip hop is undergoing similar changes and seems to be shifting towards a cleaner, house-style sound (I personally credit this to Stronger). Well Love Lockdown seems to be one of those tracks, ditching the normal rapping-over-samples approach West usually takes and... well, just listen.

(FYI, something is wrong with this MP3 but it's the only one I've got)

The stems for the song were released on Kanye's blog, WHERE HE TYPES IN ALL CAPS ALOT YEAH AND OBVIOUSLY DON'T NEVER PASSED ANY ENGLISH CLASSES WHAT (AT LEAST HE GIVES SOME LOVE TO GUYMAN FOR IDEAS N STUFF MAN), so I downloaded them out of curiosity and discovered the song was actually pretty good. Because of this release, millions of remixes are floating around. Some good, some bad. Here's a few that I found and enjoy.

Sorry for the terrible quality here. This is the highest encoding I could find.

And simply because they're good remixes, here are some remixes of his song Heartless, which is also pretty good.

"Toxic" really should have done more mastering on that one, but it's still pretty cool IMO.

That's the beauty of remixes. It makes new versions of the same song for people who like different genres.
