Holy...

This will obscure the post about the blog redesign and I've got two other posts in urgent need of release, but I just couldn't resist being the one to break this news.
It was exciting enough when we recently got the news of the 24 tracks Daft Punk were working on for the new Tron soundtrack, as stated at the 2009 Comic Con expo. But when footage turned up of the Tron exhibit at said expo...
Well, I think you should see (and hear) for yourself:

Yes, what you're hearing is, unless any new circumstances prove otherwise, a new Daft Punk song. The real deal. No shrouds of mystery or 12-year-old producers trying to pass their work off as the first sign of a fourth album. Somewhat ironic, then, that we're getting it as background music to what's probably the big news about this exhibit for anyone else (the new Light Cycle design). It's very reminiscent of Electronic music in the 80's, perhaps as a throwback to the original Tron soundtrack by Wendy Carlos (though it does seem to imply more modern work elsewhere on the soundtrack when it devolves into a series of electronic bleeps at the end). You may not like it. If that's the case, just remember that it's only their work for a movie, and that (sigh...) Album 4 remains nowhere in sight. But I can assure you almost 100% that this is new Daft Punk material.

For your listening pleasure I've extracted the MP3 from the video (alas, the crowd noise remains).

Hoping that this will make you forget about my long absence,
