Finally! A song sampling Daft Punk that's ACTUALLY GOOD. Thank you, Just A Band - you've set the standard for artists to come.

Just A Band is a Kenyan Funk/Disco/House trio formed in 2008. Although I have to admit, I've never listened to them before today - only head their name.

Their song Usinibore, released last month on their newest album "82," is pretty damn catchy. It has nice lyrics, a good beat - courtesy of Revolution 909, some nice synth leads - which may or may not be sampling PTOYL, and the video is pretty amazing too.

All in all, check out this song - and be sure to look into Just A Band some more, it's rare to have stuff this funky come out of Africa. I'm not going to give out a free download for this one, just because I think the band needs some more support :)

Thanks to M3311 for sharing this with the community :D

Enjoy, and support the band! Spread the word,
Prez

The track also samples Gonzales - Working Together.

Brilliant work.

I wouldn't have been able to notice the Revolution 909 had you not pointed this out. I still can't hear the PTOYL though

Just A Band's "In Anima Vili" isn't too bad either.

not so great as you say it is, but it's definitely the first DP-sampling song that doesn't make me wanna throw up. good job Just a Band! :)

And speaking of Daft Punk remixes, the "Tits & Clits" remix of "The Prime Time of Your Life" is pretty good too (at least I think so).

Hey man I was looking to have you rehost Calvin Harris - Ready for the Weekend (High Contrast Remix). I think this is where you told me to ask. Also have you heard the song Be True by Commix? I heard it on a mix and I cant find it anywhere.

Definitely confusing with the already established French electro group with the same name.

Yeah, definitely pretty good. Sampling DP is a dicey game.

Surely not the same 'Just A Band' aka Tom Deluxx and Stella?

I love what just a band have done on this album (I especially love ha-he), I’d definitely say buy it! There are increasingly experimental sounds coming from all over the place! Check out The Drummer Queen, another Kenyan doing big things http://www.reverbnation.com/THEDRUMMERQUEEN

"it's rare to have stuff this funky come out of Africa."

Oh my GOD that's hilarious... I mean, jazz, funk, and disco were only INVENTED by people from Africa...

not to mention kickass tribal music. though I get the idea that he's referring to electroremixes, not the entirety of a music genre

Hope things work out for them, it would be cool to hear a Just a band, Daft punk collaboration...Mouth watering! Sounds from Africa haven't been too interesting lately, it's the truth.
