Yes it is DJ Shadow. Its about time we showed you some songs from an American (yes American, No im not pulling your leg) DJ. This meistro of music is well known for his incredible variety in music, ranging from hip-hop to even some electro out there. I started listening to this guy after hearing his amazing DJ Hero Mixes ,most of them using the Six Days Remix (ft Mos Def) , which is a very respectable track to be honest.
Born in San Jose, California as Joshua Davis nearly 40 years ago, This dude has been working on his skills for a long time. Of all the DJs out there, I consider him to be the first true Sample whore, creating entire albums out of samples (Endtroducing anyone? It got a guiness world record). i want you guys who love DP and Deadmau5 to give him a try. You dont have to Like him, just give him a chance. here's some of his more well known tracks to get you to like him more.
DJ Shadow - Organ Donor (Extended Overhaul) [right click to download]
DJ Shadow - Midnight in a Perfect World [right click to download]

As a Bonus: Heres a Soulwax Remix and a badass Dj hero mix Shadow composed:

Hope you will like him. I do

Wait, you haven't ever heard Entroducing? It's the best instrumental hip-hop album ever made.
I heard it dude. did you not read the parentheses?
I love Organ Donor^^
my favourite track of his is "This Time", plus the videoclip is amazing :)
Thanks! I've really been getting into him lately and these tracks will really help.
By the way, that particular DJ Hero mix wasn't done by him. It was by one of their in-house DJs.
thanx!!
shadow makes produces and plays all his own music show some respect , yiu have a long way to go try cut chemist aswell
Endtroducing is such an amazing album.
I haven't listened to DJ Shadow in quite a while, but I suppose it's time again.
man, u r like 10 years late for this post..
seriously.. if u havent heard of dj shadow, u shd not be following any music blogs, cuz it just means u dont dig music.
i sound a bit judgemental and obsessive, but wht i said is the truth itself!
sort urself out mates
peace
yea u guys r losers! dj shadow, although good, is so 10 years ago...
so listening to the beatles is farfetched? lol retards
but noone posts beatles on an electronic music blog, saying "listen to this" do they? they are known widely, and u r a retard if you dont know them. same thing with shadow.
If you hate this so damn much, why dont you just shut up and go to another blog? it wont matter to me at all. hell, you would be doing me a favor
Oi Anon, good music is timeless. Nothing winds me up more than people who say shit like "this track is OOOOOOOOOLD". If everyone had that attitude, no-one would be listening to DJ Shadow anymore anyway, they'd be too busy bent over with their asses in the air waiting to be sodomized by the latest skinny-jeaned nu-shit hipster to find the right end of a synth. So what if he's only just discovering his work now? I discovered Kiss 30 years after they first released an album, but I still love all their work, so it doesn't make me any less of a fan. Moron.
you only heard about him from dj hero? wow
DJ SHADOW IS THE GREATEST DJ IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. EVER.
and kamei, really love your track "funky music" keep it up kid.
i hate to sound like a snob but i feel sorry for anyone who didn't hear dj shadow until dj hero. better late than never. u must also peep Preemptive Strike, his role in the dvd 'Scratch' and his production/scratching on the quannum compilation. all DOPE. one more track - Lost and Found. thanks for this post. thanks to dj hero for getting his name to more people.
