Harder Better Faster Remixes?

Oritey Chuck's XD Here is my HBFS Remix re-post :)
When I first got into Daft Punk, Harder Better Faster Stronger became one of my favourite DP songs. I started to look for remixes, I found the HBFS Single (with the excellent Breakers Break remix), Robot After All, ReDiscovery and the rare DJ Sneak remix (thanks to Alex for sending it to me :) ).

The first song of the four songs I'm going to give is the Breakers Break remix from the HBFS single, my fave HBFS remix of all time, it's so simple: just the edited vocals and the simple beat gradually adding with the main vocals and a baseline it makes me want to bob my head :)

Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger (Breakers Break Remix) [right click to download]

Remix Number Two: The Dirty Disco Youth Remix. Taken from the excellent Discovery remix album ReDiscovery (link above), this takes the song and adds a whole new melody too it. Dirty Disco Youth, you rawk.

DJ Sneak adds his touch to his remix of HBFS, clocking in at around 8 minutes he cuts up one of the main riffs of the original and then switches to the vocals and mashing them together. Not the best of remixes but still deserves to be here :)

Although this last remix isn't the sort of style music I listen to, it still deserves a good listen. This completely changes the feel of this song and turns it from a song in where you want to bust out your giant pink electric guitar and rock out into a rave into a song where... well... listen for your self :)

All artwork (should!!) be included :)
And let's hope this post works :}

Have fun raving,
Gymtonic :)

JXL BNF

From games like God of War 2 and Need For Speed to the Animatrix to a slew of remixes, dutch artist Junkie XL (Tom Holkenborg) has made his mark on the world of electronic music. Today I've selected Junkie XL's Beauty Never Fades along with the Animatrix Edit of the song. Its a somewhat relaxing song with a great feel, have a listen:

Going Back to the Popular

For the past few months, I've been listening to nothing but semi-obscure electronic. I mean this is great, listening to unknown House artists and such, but sometimes it just doesn't do it for me.

Recently, I've been listening to all the popular stuff. I'm talking about the Daft Punk and Justice that got me involved in electronic in the first place. And I don't know why, but it just sounds amazing to me. Of course many people mock them for being sellouts, but I think they're so popular because they're so talented.

So I pose a question, do you ever go back and listen to the really popular stuff? What is like for you? For me, the popular stuff is going to rule my iTunes for a little while.

Just a thought,

Chilltime

Sometimes, you just want to get away from the headbanging and synth lines that are harder than a brick wall. I had that feeling today, but i dont really have any calmer songs on my PC, lot less on my MP4.

But one i have, is a remix of Boys Noize's (with a little help from I-Robots) track Frau made by PUZIQUe, a Boys Noize and D.I.M side project. These guys only have 2 singles out together, on Boysnoize Records, but have a handfull of remixes out there.

This remix appears on Oi Oi Oi Remixed, as the title indicates, a remix album of Boys Noize's debut album:

Its a very simple remix, with a very relaxing synth line and a rythmic beat. Eventually, a hat will appear and a few bleep blop sounds. And obviously, the vocals.
Its 8 minutes of niceness and calmness that surely will be a nice change from the regular banging tracks.

Cubageeee

So my newly ordered 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube came today. You might be thinking, that's really dumb and easy. But I assure you, it is not. Plus, it was totally free :D.

How did I get this cube for absolutely nothing? (not even a shipping or handling charge) Well I got it through a free and easy service known as CubeLagoon.

It's free to sign up, no credit card required, and works on a point system. At first, I was extremely skeptical, because I know nearly every single one of those "OMG CLICK HERE" sites is a fake. However, I had amazing experience with this site.

In case you're wondering, no I did not get paid by CubeLagoon to write a positive article on them, I'm simply a pleased user. All you need to do is sign up, hit cancel a bunch of times to skip offers, then fill out various forms on websites with your name and email, no credit card required. Be sure to use your real address, because that's where your prizes will be shipped to you.

The 2x2 costs 4.75 points, which is great considering most surveys are at least 1 point.

So have fun and sign up here,
Jordan

Time to Harvest Some Beetroots

This group is one of those groups that you cant wish they made more stuff.
Because they just keep on making and making!

Formed some 3 or 4 years ago, The Bloody Beetroots (or the Beets as i like to call them),

have made made in some 2 years since they became famous, over 30 remixes and some 20 tracks, and last year these guys looked like they releasing something new every week. And yet, they have only released 2 EP's and only some remixes were officially released!

These guys are as electro as they can get, with heavy riffs contrasting with piano lines which also contrast with heavy drum kicks.

And the track im posting, is one of the dirtiest, longest and yet fantastic in a calm way.

Its called Harvest Time, not released officially, but spreaded around blogs and sites everywhere, and its simply fantastic. I cant even tell what kind of situation this track fits into. In clubs it probably would scare everyone, its certainly not a song to listen to while lieing in the sun, and its not a driving song. But i can tell you, it will make your head bobble around and make you feel good.

Anyways, here is the track:

Enjoy and please, freak out with our music.

Telling you to harvest what the internet seeds,

Ping!!!!!

If you saw the quick test messages I posted before, it was a test of the current service I'm using, Ping.

So I'm currently updating this via AIM. I'm using a service called Ping.fm. You basically sign up, link all your social networking sites, and update them all at once, or separately by calling them with thigns like @bl for blogger or @fb for facebook.

Anyways, it's a really handy tool. You can update via email, AIM, text message, or just their website!

So check it out at the link above,

Imagination

Today I'm posting a song called Imagination by Jes (Jes Brieden). The song comes from her album Into the Dawn which was released almost a year ago (tomorrow will make one year). Interestingly, Into the Dawn was done under Tiësto's (Tijs Michiel Verwest) record label, Black Hole Recordings and I usually find anything remotely related to DJ Tiësto to be complete garbage, but Imagination is a pretty good song in my opinion (you can definitely hear that Tiësto influence in the short breakdown sections though).

Check out her discography to see her albums and the good amount of compilations she's done.

So I was browsing around for some The Phantom's Revenge Tracks today. I'm sure a lot of you have heard of him but I just wanted to increase my collection a little. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...

Hi there, I think it's a perfect day to post 3 tracks, just for your entertainment. Hmmm, but then these tracks need to have some kind of story behind it, otherwise it would be meanigless posting 3, right?

Thank god someone already filmed the story back in 1966, so I won't have to make it up. I'm talking about The Good, The Bad and The Ugly by Sergio Leone (one of the greatest westerns of all times).

The Crookers (you know, the Italian DJ duo that's famous for their remixes) made an album inspired by this movie and its legendary music by Ennio Morricone. They're just filled with rhythm, it makes you wanna dance. I'll let the music do the talking now...

You Are About To Hear, A Collection, Of Recorded Sounds...

O hai there...
EXTREEEEMLEY sorry for the lack of postage recently... My computers been acting up quite bad lately (they're so spontaneous sometimes) but to make up for the fact I haven't some eargasmic tunes, here's an excellent remix of Mr Oizo's Hun. Turning it from a dark, scary song (which still is funky sounding) into a funky song which starts off by taking the piano note from about half way through into it's own melody. Then, shockingly, halfway through completely rips the previous melody apart and sprinkling it through the second melody. This song has been in my head for the past week and I hope it captures you too XD

(Sorry, I couldn't find any official artwork)

Woo! More Reader Satisfaction!

Seeing as I've been introduced to Soulwax and not so much MSTRKRFT, I decided to take up the other half of Guest's request. The track(s) I'm posting today is a neat, quirky little Dewaele brothers number about consumerism. Its name? NY Excuse.

Soulwax - NY Excuse [right click to download]

Oh, but that's not all! Also included in this limited-time, buy-buy-buy package is the phenomenal Justice remix, which, with only the vocals and a few backing elements, creates a whole 'nother realm of music. This is one of only two remixes that appeared on Justice's recent live album on its own, without being combined with some other track of theirs (the other, a remix of Metallica's "Master of Puppets", was renamed to "Final" for copyright reasons).

Reminding you to think before you post, as this is Ilictronix and not Illicitronix,

Responding to the fans

Well, if you see in the shoutbox you will see someone actually shouting "MORE SOULWAX AND MSTRKRFT!!!".
And he is right. So, ill satisfy the clients needs.
Since i havent discovered Soulwax yet, ill leave you with MSTRKRFT.

This track was made last year, in a single named Bounce:

This cover can look sexy, or just make you go "Ewwww." Whatever floats your boat.

Im posting the B-side for the single, called VUVUVU. Odd name, eh? Yeah.

Anyways, enjoy.

And please, if you want some artist to be posted about here, you can do so in the shoutbox, and we'll see what we can do.

Matrix & Futurebound Hassle the Hoff with MC Spyda

Today I'm coming to you with an interesting remix. Remember that old show from the 80's with David Hasselhoff? Knight Rider? No? Ok, well even if you don't, let's start off with playing the theme song to the show:

Stu Philips - Knight Rider Theme [right click to download]

Ok, so for the 80's it wasn't terrible. Anyway, Matrix & Futurebound (yes, more DnB) decided to make a remix of the Knight Rider theme song with MC Spyda back in 2007. It starts out very hip-hop, but then it switches up and gets good. Have a listen:

Matrix & Futurebound - Knite Riderz [right click to download]

I hope you enjoyed that.

Fresh From The Oven

Champi again! I'm here with something big. Something powerful. And definitely not a 12-year-old forum troll. It's two people, in fact; one from Paris, the other London (For dual-hotspot technology!), and they're currently signed to Ek'leroshock records.
Who are they? Chewy Chocolate Cookies.
...
OK, now that you're done laughing, down to business. CCC are prominently remix artists, and they perform on two scales: The Seriously Dancefloor-Friendly and the Ludicrously Ridiculous. As such, I've attached two tracks to fit each. The first, a remix of Justice's Genesis, turns the original epic intro into, no joke, a powerful dancefloor burner based around nothing more than a few sound effects and the main bridge. The second, a remix-on-remix of Crooker's remix of The Salmon Dance by The Chemical Brothers. It turns the original into a silly cartoon theme (albeit the catchiest one out there).

Justice - Genesis (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix) [right click to download]

There's plenty more, too. Be sure to check out CCC's Myspace...

And YouTube page.

Moving like a train

I'm going to post a song that's one of my all time favorites for 4 years now (I heard it the first time I went to a real party and I just never got tired hearing it).

It has a Disney-like intro (now who doesn't like Bambi or The Lion King) and it's catchy & repetitive (but that doesn't make it less interesting, the subtle changes keep it going).

And then it has this: After hearing the same thing over and over again… Finally some change, a break of epic proportions, you're thinking "Now what's next?". Guess what, exactly the same as before, AND IT GET'S AWAY WITH IT.

This song has been playing in my head for the past few years or so... Don't say I didn't warn you.

The perfect Winter song

You know those days where you are feeling a little glum and you decide to take a walk in the night, and then it starts to rain as if God is taking a shower?

We've all done that. And the other day, i found the perfect song for those moments.

The track im going to post is (once again) by a french man, named DatA (or datA, which is how the track is tagged). And i found it the ohter day, when it was raining and i was bored, so i decided to do a little music discovery. I already had one of his tracks, but i wanted more. And thats how i stumbled upon this:

It fitted perfectly to the mood i was in, so i decided to give it a listen. And i usually only give rating to a song after listening some 2 or 3 times, but halfway through the 1st listen, i knew this was amazing.

This track reminds me of Michael Sembello's "Maniac", a classic 80's (or 70's, i dont know really) song.

But anyway, here is the track. If you dont understand the lyrics, please contact me and ill send them to you.

DatA - Rapture [right click to download]

Enjoy!

Oh, BTW, i havent been posting becuase i hurt my left wrist majorly on Tuesday and typing has been a bit of a challenge. Until now.

So Yous a Geek?

Well, I am...of course.

I am stunned by the latest technology, and I'm the type of kid who would spend his Friday night coding a robot. That's just me.

Anyway, I hope you've all heard of ThinkGeek. It's the place to satisfy all you geeknesses. From anima action figures to buzzing magnets, the site has it all.

I recently spent 50 bucks there on magnets and a little recording module chip to use with my modded Easy Button :-D. I know this blog's about music...but hey, I'm a geek.

What's the point? A few months ago I mentioned the supergeek Chris Pirillo. Anyway, he recently sent me some ThinkGeek coupons, so go shopping, spend money, and save money with these coupons. http://chris.pirillo.com/thinkgeek-coupons/

ALBUM REVIEW:
Escape From Planet Monday - DJ Fresh.

DJ Fresh (Dan Stein) is not your average DnB artist. He doesnt just put a beat with a simple melody and call it a song. In a genre where a lot of music sounds exactly the same, DJ Fresh is - forgive me for this - fresh.

Escape From Planet Monday starts out nicely and sets itself apart from other DnB albums with songs like The Pink Panther, which features a solo flute, along with All That Jazz which is quite a catchy track. However, there's something missing at this point, the album is good but its lacking in...fun.

Track #5, Closer vs DJ Shadow, is where this album goes from mediocre to a whole lot of fun. Closer vs DJ Shadow, X-Project, The Immortal, Submarines (Domestic Cold War), and Funk Academy are excellent tracks (and are all one after the other). These tracks are where the album peaks to become something special. These are songs that aren't boring and repetetive and are all different - no cookie-cutter tracks!

After this, the album slows down a little, but its still got some good momentum going. All Strung Out (Thunder VIP) is much closer to your average DnB and Throw feat. Neil Tennant, is a very relaxed song that finishes the album up nicely.

Although I am a little dissapointed with how this album begins, I have to say that this is a quality piece of work. Check out the tracks posted below, and if you like them, check out the CD! Or go to tinysong.com and search for other tracks I mentioned here. Or listen to some other tracks by DJ Fresh.

But, no matter what you do, COMMENT AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

STEEEEEEM MAACCHHIIIIIIIINNNNE!

You've all probably heard Daft Punk's Steam Machine before, wether it be on the Human After All ablum, or in Around The World / Harder Better Faster Stronger, or in Too Long / Steam Machine, or even the little snippet in the beginning of Da Funk / Daftendirekt, you must have heard it before.

You might not have heard the Tknik Demo Remix (at least, I think that's the spelling XD), taken from the Human After All remix complimation: Android After All, only using the Steam Machine vocals it still makes for an awesome track, starting off with a quick spell of the vocals, adding this wonderful, grungy, dirty melody which gradually speeds up, then injecting a lethal, eargasmic blast of the Steam Machine vocals, it makes you want to dance so much... I almost fell of my seat!
I hope you can enjoy the rave and maybe even fall of your chair, just like I did!

Are you ready?

I recently saw this videoclip from Ready for the floor by Hot Chip (a British electropop band) and was pleasantly surprised.

The song can be found here:

Hot Chip - Ready For the Floor [right click to download]

It's been a while since I saw one of those well crafted videoclips that go perfectly with the song. Not just some muscled guy surrounded by big breasted babes or a band performing at a high school prom.

This got me thinking: what about all those well crafted revolutionary videoclips everybody forgot? It might be good idea to bring em back and why not vote to see which videoclip is the greatest of all time. Everyone gets to nominate their favourite clip (just post them in the comments). And when we gathered the best of the best... It's voting time.

I want to be the first to nominate: Daft Punk - Around the world

Mashups Redux

As a follow-up to Mr. Brown's post, I have a track that is one of the most famous OFFICIAL mashups ever.

It was "produced" by Ghent superduo Soulwax, under their 2 Many DJ's alias, and opened their As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt. 2 album, a very famous CD made almost entirely of mashups. It's a fun medley of the aformentioned Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) performance of their song Peter Gunn and an acapella the previously-posted Basement Jaxx track Where's Your Head At.

All the way through, you're enjoying it, but not as much as if you've heard both of the tracks used beforehand, as nearly any mashup listener will tell you. As such, I've decided to give you the half you probably haven't heard in addition. Here you go:

Emerson, Lake & Palmer -Peter Gunn (Live) [right click to download]

and...

Reminding you that we can't evolve without you,

Still wanna join the team?

Well, in a matter of hours I filled 5 spaces, which is all I really wanted...

Feel free to still apply, but I'm not just going to accept you out the blue. Basically, what I'm saying is, I need to see something good, show me that you would make a great addition to the team...just show off!

Mash-up Madness

Today I decided to post two awesome tracks created by some unknown Dj’s I found surfing the net. They were part of a CD filled with mash-ups, but these two were the only ones worth mentioning.
What’s a mash-up you say? It’s a song created by adding the vocal of one song to another or by just mixing multiple songs together.

The first one is composed out of two legendary 80’s songs: You spin me round from Dead or Alive (a band from Liverpool with transvestite/pirate Pete Burns as lead singer, check him out on youtube cause he looks hilarious) and Upside down by soul queen Diana Ross. The chorus of this remake: “You spin me… upside down… like a record baby… round and round” is pure win. To explain it math wise: catchy song + catchy song = übercatchy song.

Dead or Alive & Diana Ross - You Spin Me Upside Down [right click to download]

The second one contains the D.A.N.C.E. vocal by Justice played along with I want you back by the Jackson 5, making it a really funky song.

Feel the Silence...

Well, with "Prez" Jordan's recent announcement, my little treasure of a first track fits snugly into his quota. It's a beast of a raver, and let me inform you that if you don't have it on your iPod when you go to Ibiza, they'll kick you off the island. Really.

This song has a long story behind it, which is not personal but is certainly very interesting. Technically, the track is by "World Electro" band Delerium, with help from Folk singer Sarah McLachlan, but would've never achieved its chart-topping success outside of its remixed form by dime-a-dozen Trance group Airscape. While the track is exceptional, there is a special reason behind it being my first posted track: it never could have been achieved without all three artists working together perfectly.

I'll show you: if it had been just Sarah and Delerium (which actually happened), it'd be a somewhat odd Ambient track that got cast aside with the rest of their repertoire, save for amongst a few diehard Deleirum fans. Had it been only Sarah and Airscape, the ethereal lyrics we hear would not be present, and some sort of whining about a lost boyfriend would likely be in its place, as it is with most hyperravers of its kind. Meanwhile, with just Delerium and Airscape, there would be no vocals whatsoever, and in order to make the remix Airscape would have had to put their beat behind one of the odd World elements. However, when all three participate, you get an absolutely wonderful song that becomes worthy of my posting.

Similarly, if we, as members of Team Ilictronix (if you aren't, just think that I'm speaking to those who are) didn't work together towards our goal of putting good tracks such as this out there, there'd be no point for the blog's existence. Didn't I bring that around nicely?

Now, without further ado, here's the song:

Reminding you to believe in a sense of wonder,
Champi :)

Pump up the volume

So here’s my first track, (pretty well known) but damn it's a bomb: “Pump up the volume” by “M|A|R|R|S”.

M|A|R|R|S is a collaboration between Martyn, Alex, Rudi & Russell from “A.R. Kane” & Steve from “Colour Box”, two electronic bands from the United Kingdom… at least this was the original plan, they didn’t get along and made two separate songs, later turning it over to the rest for additional input.

A.R Kane made “Anitina” with some Colourbox drumming and Martyn Young constructed “Pump up the volume”, The only release made by this legendary collaboration. It immediately became a number one hit in the UK and is now regaining its popularity.
In fact this song is so special it nearly got a Grammy in 1989 (the year a huge fan of it was born :D). Some of you might be asking themselves, well what’s so special about this song?
Pump up the volume is considered to be the first UK number one to contain samples from other songs, a trend that became wildly popular. This is one of those oldskool songs that made dance music popular.

I just love the smoothness of the song, it starts of great, and keeps on going without losing its rhythm. The vocals are used brilliantly and when you’re not paying attention you don’t even realize it’s a samplefest. And off course the Arabic trumpet sample is epic win.

Let’s make this into a competition: How many samples can you count, and where do they come from?

Greets, Mr. Brown.

I know this makes four....

I just wanted to let everyone know that instead my boring old every 2-3 day routine, ilictronix will now be on a 2-3 article DAILY routine. With all our authors, this quota is surely easy to hit.

And since we have no strict schedule - if there's room to post, POST!!! This means you'll never know what taste of music you'll find on here when you come to check it out.

All in all, be sure to come back at least 2-3 times daily because that's how often our articles will be posted. Bring friends...and money!

Don't forget to scroll down so you don't miss any articles,
Prez Jordan

Welcome, One and All!

Hey there! Guess who finally got permission to post? Now you'll never be safe from me! Mwahahaha!
...
Okay, now that that's out of my system, I'll give myself a little introduction. I'm Champiness (real name unknown), and you may have seen me around TDC. If not, I'm glad to meet you! I've discovered my favorite bands through a long string of other people, and my favorites include but are not limited to Daft Punk (no, really), Justice, The Chemical Brothers, Underworld (who you'll likely be seeing a lot of with me), and some Klaxons and Digitalism for good measure. Plus, my dad introduced me to Prog Rock bands ELP and Genesis, who both provided a big influence to Electronic music and may just peek their heads out somewhere in one of my posts. However, I'll always have a good reason for posting what I post, and it won't just be a way to put up whatever song I found on iTunes and tapped my toe to (try saying THAT five times fast).
I have a track prepared, but out of respect to Alex and his wonderful track of the day, I'll wait until later to post it.

DANGER!

Heh, you probably thought i was going to say some bad news. Or not, really.

Anyway, my first track on this blog is made by a French bloke named Danger. And guess what: He likes pyramids too! Look:

See? But thats not a Daft Punk influence, thats a Ancient Egypt influence.
This guy also does his own animations and tons of other weird stuff. Seriously, if you check his Myspace, you may end up in a hospital bed, with the seizures it might give becuase of the flashing background.

And he is pretty much an Electro dude. Only has released an EP, but he is preparing an album and a new EP. Cant wait.

Some say he has a lot of similarities with Kavinsky, but to be honest, i think they are nothing alike.

So, heres the track of the day, an electro-banger with some hip-hop vocals, with the awesome name of simply 00h00.

O Hai There :)

Why Hallo Thar! I'm Gymtonic, and I lessthanthree my music. Music and technology (why was I tempted to type Technologic LOL?) are my main passions in life, stick the two together and what do you get? ELECTRONIC MUSIC!! French House Music IMO is the best type of music of all, the early Daft Punk, Cassius and AIR are my faves. Of course, with French House making it's big comeback is especially making me even more happier :)
Well, enough of my babbling and about me:
I'm Ben, fourteen and come from England (and no, I don't eat scones and drink tea all day [not saying that you did] :P ) Play me a funky song and expect to see me humming and dancing all night long, I'm very outgoing so I imagine to hopefully make lotsa friends here :)

Now, to the srs bsns, the music, le musique, the best bit off all, and the raving.
The track is an oldie (well, not that old, from the late 90's I think) it's a mythical track, sparking controversy over who the actual producer/owner is. Thats right, you guessed it, its Gym Tonic, the epic song in where I stole my username from. This song is probably in my Top Five Songs of all time. It's debated who actually made the song, a quick explanation from Solid Goldberger might help:
Entirely produced by Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk), "Gym Tonic" bacame, over the years, a kind of mythical record. According to the rumours, Bangalter didn't want the track to be released commercially. But it gained such a success as a promo that Sinclar decided to put it on his first album "Paradise", crediting himself as the main author and Bangalter as the remixer.
Chose the real artist: Bangalter, or Sinclar?

Stop & Panic

Hey, my name's Kevin and this is my first post on the ilictronix blog (yes, I'm the guy who messed around in FL studio and made that track that was posted a while back). I'm into DnB, some trance, breakbeat, and a bunch of other stuff. I'm looking forward to bringing some new tracks to the blog and helping to keep everyone entertained...

The track I've chosen is from Cirrus which is a duo out of LA. The track is Stop & Panic...for some reason this track reminds me of Propellerheads...anyway, here it is:

btw, sorry for being an idiot and failing to see the thing about Alex posting first, my apologies.

Hi there

I'm Mr. Brown, and as another new member of team ilictronix I will be writing articles and posting tracks every once in a while.

To introduce myself: I'm 19 years old and live in a small little country called Belgium (the country with the chocolate), famous for being right next to France and Germany. I’m a second year university student trying to become a civil engineer. And I recently quit art school after 10 years.

I like watching TV and movies and occasionally playing some games, but the music’s just as important. I don’t really have a fixed musical taste, but I really like electronic/funky/dubby/dancy/rhythmy thingies. The artists that changed my life are Kraftwerk, Daft Punk and The Prodigy (I like to call them the holy trinity of European electronic music). And my favorite artists are Dada Life, MSTRKRFT, Boys noise, Mr. Oizo, Busy P, H-man & many, many more.

“Since I'm new to the blogging experience I will start out with one track, but damn it's a bomb” is what I was going to say right now, but unfortunately, no music for now (I have not yet been proved worthy enough to be entrusted with the holy password).

So it’s adios for now amigos, hope you’ll like what I do and thanks to Jordan and the newly formed ilictronix team (Alex, Kevin, Gymtonic and al the new members) for letting me in.

Mr. Brown

Hello

Im guessing your wondering why are there 3 writers on this blog now. And the answer is simple:
Look down to the last 3 or 4 posts and you'll get there.

I'm fortunate enough to be one of those writers now. And now it's me, Jordan nad Mr.Brown.

And who am I?

My name is Alexandre Queirós aka amq, amq55 and amq909. Im a 15 year old (16 in April) portuguese student. A very lazy student mind.
Im in the 10th grade, which i think is the equivelent to being a freshman in high school. Im also a part of a special english and informatics course, but thats another story.

You may know me from such places as The Daft Club, TBK Light, Trackmania Nations Forever and (if you can actually understand anything of what im saying) school.

Now to what really matters: Music.

My likings go from French House to pumping Electro, and also like some Rock every now and then.
Favorite artists are mainly: Daft Punk, Justice, Muse, The Bloody Beetroots, Goose, Roulé, Crydamoure, Ratatat, etc...

I'd give you a track now, but i still haven't got the details for the blog's FileDen account. *hint hint*

BTW, if you see some errors in my writing, screw you, im not British, or American, or Australian. Im Portuguese.

And that's my intro post.

Thanks a bundle to Jordan for letting me in and congrats to Mr.Brown and whoever else makes it into the team.

Happy reading, your foreigner,
Alex.

Team Ilictronix Sign-Ups

So you want to be a part of Team Ilictronix huh? You want to be one of the writers for a blog with over 100 billion views daily? Do you think you're cut out for it?

What is Team Ilictronix?

Team Ilictronix is basically a....team of writers that, along with me, will be managing the blog.

Are you twelve years old?
No, I'm actually 16.

How can I sign up?
I want to make the signup process for the team fairly easy, but I don't want some trolls posting spam on my blog, so I'm going to have a simple review, keep reading for more info.

What will my duties be?
As part of Team Ilictronix, you will be required to publish at least 1 post a week, and keep tabs on the blog, aka view it daily.

Requirements
-An accessible e-mail account which you are to check multiple times daily
-A good understanding of electronic music
-Computer experience, preferably HTML (not necessarily vital)
-Speak english decently
-Write english decently
-Publish at least 1 article weekly
-An instant messaging account (preferably AIM)
-A blogger account (a google account)
-A fairly large music library (you will be posting tracks)

Sign-Up Instructions
Write an email to ilictronixstaff@gmail.com Entries Closed with the following information....

-A name for me to call you by (first name preferably)
-Your username on a site where you might know me from (ie thedaftclub)
-Your age...relax, if you're 12, you can still write for me. I just need to know you're age for payroll preferences so DO NOT LIE
-Your blogger account name
-Your favorite genres and artists (just to get a taste)
-Your instant messaging screen name
-The place you are from (I just need your time zone, but it would be nice if you could tell me the region. For example, I'm from Central NJ)
-Links to any music sites you have (only if you are an artist, ie MySpace)
-Some information about yourself
-How you found out about the blog
-Amount of time you have been a viewer

Sorry the requirements are a bit lengthy, but I feel they are very reasonable. You have all the time in the world to apply, but I would prefer if I could get at least 5 applications in by the end of the week.

It should only take a matter of days for me to approve or deny you, and set up your administrative preferences on ilictronix. If I do not respond, it means I have not finished reviewing, so leave me a few days.

I will send you an e-mail regarding whether or not you have been accepted, and I will respond in order of application date. Also, I am allowed to edit your posts, delete your posts, and even remove you as a writer if I feel the need to. :-)

I hope to see you on the team
Jordan

NOTE: Requirements are likely to change, please refer back to the article for any changes

EDIT:
We also require your Blogger username, as well as a small image of yourself, or anything that represents you (75px by 75px)

A Track!

Well today I'm working on a massively gargantuan english project, so I can't release any information of Team Ilictronix yet. Expect some info and instructions to join tomorrow.

To hold you guys over, here's a phenomenal Funky Fresh Disco Hop French House track courtesy of Nicolas Vallee. I apologize for my lackluster article, but I'm just so swamped with work so I'll just post a track.

Team Ilictronix

A viewer and Champiness brought up a good point, so I am asking all my viewers what they think.

The idea is forming "Team Ilictronix." This would consist of 4-6 guys (maybe more including myself) to write and manage the blog along with me. Of course, I'd be in charge.

So what do you think? If it passes off as a good idea I may just come up with a signup process.

To the polls!
Jordan

So Fun

Today I am going to post a track that will make your body move in some way or another. I don't know if you're going to bounce your head, and get up and start dancing, but this will get you moving.

Today's track is courtesy of unknown-but-godly Hideki Naganuma. I have posted 2 tracks by Naganuma before, but I think this track is universally acceptable, whereas the other too are a little more obscure. And yes, this is from the soundtrack of "Jet Set Radio"

Hideki Naganuma - The Concept Of Love [right click to download]

Also, I am going to post ANOTHER track by Hideki Naganuma. TWO TRACKS IN ONE DAY?! GOOD LORD. You're welcome ladies and gents. This is also from the JSRF soundtrack. Personally, this is my favorite track by Naganuma, but that's just me.

Anyways, you'll be hearing more Naganuma in the future, so get used to it :-). Voice your opinion.

Call On Me (Again)

Well, to follow up my previous track, I WAS going to post some TBang, but I know that'll result in my Daft Club viewers being angry with me...so I decided to post a Call On Me Remix

This a remix of the track I posted a few days ago, and I think some of my viewers might find it to be far superior than the original. But if you don't, you have a new track to add to your library. Who is the Daft Mafia? It is Thomas Bangalter and DJ Falcon, with a little hidden cinnamon twist from Guy-Man from time to time.

Eric Prydz - Call On Me (Daft Mafia Rework) [right click to download]

Also quit yer bitchin...I don't know any blogs (out for at least a few months) that update EVERY day. So sorry If I try to build up a little suspense :-)

Call On Me

Hey guys, haven't posted a track in a while.

Today I want to share with you a song I've been obsessed with for a while. I'm sure most of you have heard, because a few years ago it gained international fame, except in the US because all we like here is emo. Anyway, I don't really have much to say, other than it's 8 minutes of booming bass and a great sample from an 80s Winwood Song "Valerie."

I hope you enjoy, even if you know it already.
