A long time ago it was pointed out that I have a mancrush on Lifelike. I just want to set the record straight: I only have a mancrush on these guys.
But yeah, Lifelike is the shizzz. The other day, Evil Stereo and I were having one of our many talks about the bygone eras of sampling in house music, and the topic of loops that don't play through the entire chorus/whatever and leave an unfinished vocal phrase at the end. He linked me to this Lifelike white label track called All I Need Is You. Pretty sweet use of Mike And The Mechanics - All I Need Is A Miracle (which I have posted before on account of the fake Eric Prydz track that samples it).

Mentioned in the Rivierra post, Mike 303 is a French producer associated with the Superfunk act, which had some of the best sampling of the French house era. His production is easily to pick out because of the distinctive phaser sound. He's moved on though, and if I have my facts straight, I don't believe he's part of Superfunk anymore (which I mentioned several months ago had come back with a new generic electro single). He's got the 80's sound goin' on just like the rest of the good house producers, but he's kept it funky.

80s. The sound of the future. Er... of the past. But now.
