Here's one of the mellowest, most chill-out, synth jams I've heard in a long time. It's layers and layers of relaxation and purity. Courtesy of my buddy Cloud9.

While we're listening to ambient, let's discuss. What do you think of ambient music overall? Is it lacking talent? Amazingly constructed? Let me know in the comments section - this could be an interesting discussion.
Peace out,

Its odd, because I love listening to chillout music as much as I do more extreme genres like speedcore (such as m1dy) and gabber.
This track is pretty decent although most ambient music I listen to doesn't have such a hard kick. My library is a lot of triphop and vocal trance not to mention the Breakbot/Alex Metric stuff. I'll DJ hard hitting music but when I'm just hanging out in my studio it's a lot of chill ambient stuff. Check out some 2 Bone Giants or Visit Venus if you want some real creative chill music
this seems like an appropriate time to debut this. This is the first track I've ever made. I used the stems from team9 song "as we travel" so I guess you'd call it a re-edit or something. Some feedback would be nice.

Actually you know what? Here's one of my favorite 2 Bone Giant tracks.

I'm gonna say this track is pretty good bu as far as the kicks go.. not a very big fan maybe if the track were a little bit more experimental i've be more into it
Question: Would Sigur Ros be considered ambient?
I love me some chillout music, though for me it tends to be more experimental artists.
sigur ros is definitely ambient.
Not bad. I listen to Trentemøller when im relaxing. His album Last Resort is incredible. Love the minimal stuff. I just did a post about him this morn with some of his music.

When I wanna chill out I tend to listen to some minimal sets or jazz, but ambient isn't my cup...
I love chillout music. I wish there was more of it and better, though. The genre's kind of clogged in my opinion.
(rhetorical) questions: Who doesn't love chill out music? ;)
I recently found a guy called Aki Latvamäki. He's frome Finland and his music is soooooo good... you should check him out:

Telepopmusik is one of my favorite ambient groups out there. I also like RJD2, although on a sad day I'd want to listen to Thom Yorke than either of the two (not ambient, but chillax enough).
big nono for ambient
yeah, the kicks on this make it hardly ambient at all.
Eh I disagree. I've heard a lot of ambient with hard percussion, even some with weird (sometimes obnoxious) arpeggios. It all depends what your view of "ambient" is. Most people think ambient = quiet. I disagree.
