Those of you living in Britain might have seen the 30th annual Brit Awards last night. Besides Peter Kay's quick witted slagging off of Liam Gallagher after the ungrateful bastard chucked his award into the crowd (YouTube it), it was your usual tween-voted popularity contest, with the usual gaggle of fabricated daytime-radio hoggers all picking up awards instead of those who actually deserved them. One person, however, could not have been more deserving of her prize. This person was Critic's Choice award winner, Ellie Goulding.
If you haven't been living in a cave with Osama for the past few months, you'll already have heard of Ellie. She, along with her producer Starsmith, have been gaining support from just about every blog, magazine and radio presenter in the world right now. Her debut album "Lights" is out on March 1st, preceded by new single "Starry Eyed", which is quite simply just a brilliant pop song. Not only that, but one of my current favourite producers Russ Chimes has given the track a stellar rework, which should really come with a "fistpumping guaranteed or your money back" notice.
