Revolte is the ultimate in hipster music. It's so underground, no one's ever heard of them. You know why? Half of their songs are LEAKED DEMOS downloaded from a folder on their unfinished website. You have to be really hip and cool to know the URL (thanks to PostWorthyMusic for sending me the right way). To top it all off, what I consider to be their best song is IRONIC.
Revolte is somewhat vexing. They only have on official release, 'Fucking On Music' which is great electro, but I find the lyrics crude, shallow, and drab. Since then, they've done a number of brilliant electro tracks, and have proved themselves to be masters of micro-sampling. Their track Unit 2 Lesson 1 has been in sets by SebastiAn, and it's clear why: REVOLTE is SICK. Why vexing though? Like I said, one official release. Not only that, but they've been saying they'd be back in action now for going on 2 years, and have yet to really do anything. No EPs, no myspace updates, nothing.
So I took the liberty of putting together some 'fake' EPs, to collect related tracks together with some album art so you can put it on your music players :)
IRONICAL SEXISM (cover above)
I find this track pretty fun. It's ironic, it's sexist, it's got some great guitar. Quite honestly though, the real kicker here are some of the remixes. While I don't care for the GRUM remix much, the We Are Terrorists and Sundance remixes are BRILLIANT. The Blanche DuBois mix is good too, but it sounds almost unfinished to me. A bit raw for my tastes.
By the way, I'm pretty sure we're the only blog that has the original mix posted, so go wild, guys.

... if you can't tell, and haven't ever seen my webcomic, I have a bit of a preoccupation with hipsters...
I just received a message from our friend PostWorthyMusic with some information.
"By the way, I read your post about Revolte earlier; good stuff! Also, it might interest you to know that they are indeed planning on releasing something in 2011. 1/2 of Revolte posted on the French Touch Forum mentioning an EP (At least according to Google Translate, although it might be wrong), and Tobias of the blog Deathelectro apparently contacted the other half on Facebook who confirmed a full lenght album. Furthermore, both of their facebook profiles have had profile pictures of them in the crash test dummy costumes together and them in their studio. Thanks again dude! You can help thank our internet informant by subscribing on youtube, and checking out the blog.
So, something is definitely in the works"
